A competition to find the best school radio programme has begun, with the launch of the National Schools Radio Network web site.
The government-backed initiative is open to schools teaching 11- to 18-year-olds in Britain.
Students are invited to submit programmes or audio files produced as part of a school radio project between May 2007 and April 2008. Entries can be on any subject, but the closing date is 18 April.
The winning school will receive £1,000 to purchase audio equipment, the chance to visit their local radio station, and two places at an awards ceremony.
