As a young person, I know we have plenty to say about issues that affect us, but we're wary of politics and politicians.

I sit on the board of Claim Your Voice, a project that encourages young people to get involved in democracy. I want to help young people realise that decisions affect them, and it would be better if they also had their say.
If I were in charge of Parliament I'd make the debates a lot more interactive and less formally scripted.
During Local Democracy Week I chaired a debate in Parliament. We debated sex education, media perception of young people, gangs and knife crime. It was pretty much non-stop throughout the day, although at times I would intervene and move the debate on.
I think MPs should consult with young people about the things that matter to them. As Speaker, I'd also order more MPs' debates to be held outside Parliament.
